Volunteer Kit Packing Session – Howell
October 24 @ 6:30 pm - 7:00 pm
The first Weekend Survival Kits volunteer kit packing session of school year 2019-2020 is scheduled for October 24th. Weekend Survival Food Kits will be assembled for school children in participating Howell Schools. This program helps sustain students who may not have enough to eat over the weekends. As a welcome to our volunteers, cider and donuts will be served. And, because this event is close to Halloween our younger volunteers may wish to wear their costumes to the session – as long as the costume does not represent a safety hazard or an obstacle to the volunteer work.
If you are new to volunteering for Weekend Survival Kits – thank you! Please take a moment to download the volunteer release form, fill it out and bring with you to your first session. A representative from Weekend Survival Kits, will collect the forms. Going forward, if you have already filled out the liability release form, you can simply sign-in when you arrive. If you are planning on bringing a large group or have any questions, please contact coordinator Kristie@weekendsurvivalkits.org
For your convenience you will find upcoming events listed on the home page of Weekend Survival Kits at www.weekendsurvivalkits.org While there, you can track your own volunteer service hours throughout the year by clicking on the Clipboard on the home page. This takes just a few minutes and can be done right from your cell phone. If you bring along children to volunteer, list them in the comments section and report a total number of hours for your family/group.
